What to Expect
My approach to photography is fun and laid back. I want it to be a memorable experience that captures the true spirit of your child or family. Whether it’s in the studio, on location or in your home, I want you feel comfortable being you.
What to Wear
It is important to think about the clothing for your photograph. Wear something that is you! If you’re not comfortable it will show in the pictures. But if you looking for some tips . . . Wear layers if you can. It adds interest and texture to a photograph. Clothing with texture, such as printed tees, chunky sweaters, shirts and skirts with ruffles, buttons, ribbon, patterns or other details work well.
I encourage clients to bring a few changes of clothing to the session, if your child/senior is up for it we can change as many times as you like. Bring lots of accessories, they add character and whimsy to the photographs. Hats, scarves, necklaces, fun shoes and boots, tights, etc. are particularly fun for kids and make a photograph more interesting.
It can be challenging to coordinate outfits for the entire family. Have fun with it. Pick a handful of colors that work well together and play around with them. It’s okay to throw some stripes and patterns into the mix as long as it works with the overall color scheme. Dark jeans always seem to look great and bring unity to the photograph. Sometimes matching too much can look cheesy, so try to keep each person unique and stay within the color scheme.
