As a mother of two incredible boys, I approach photography in much the same way that I approach parenting–recognize what is unique about the individual and embrace it!

Okay, okay, on my best days that is my approach to parenting. I admit it’s a little hard to embrace when my youngest comes to me with a broken child safety lock, a mischievous expression and a handful of bits and pieces from his brother’s “special lego project” that took him all night to build.

But I can honestly say that I go into every one of my photo sessions ready to find that expression–mischievous, shy or otherwise.  Everyone I photograph, whether it is a tiny infant or high school senior, has something that separates them from others. My goal is to capture that something in a way that truly honors it.
